JAKARTA DECLARATION: INDIGENOUS PEOPLES AND CIVIL SOCIETY ORGANIZATIONS FOR THE PROTECTIONS OF INDIGENOUS PEOPLES IN ISOLATION

This document constitutes the Jakarta Declaration, adopted on 29 January 2026 by a global coalition of Indigenous Peoples' representatives and civil society organizations. The text establishes a joint position and a moral and political call to States, multilateral institutions, and financial entities to guarantee the absolute protection of territories, physical and cultural integrity, and the right to self-determination of Indigenous Peoples in Isolation (PIACI), urging the cessation of extractive activities and infrastructure projects that threaten their survival and sovereignty.
